Workforce accommodation is to be provided within Area B on the basis that no living accommodation for workers is permitted within Area A.
Location and Capacity
Accordingly all accommodation will be located within a self-contained ‘workers city’ on the south eastern edge of Area B. The city will be segmented into six workers’ villages each capable of accommodating approximately 5,000 people.
Available Amenities
These villages will be self contained providing a wide range of amenities and services including religious, health, recreational, retail and entertainment facilities.
Based on the total employment forecast for Area A, it is envisaged that approximately 40,000 employees plus their families, where appropriate, will require accommodation within Area B.
Housing Types
The accommodation strategy allocates specific housing types for each category of employee ranging from Villas for senior management, townhouses for middle management, apartments and studios for skilled workers and single / shared rooms in workers villages.
For anchor tenants it may be possible to design bespoke workforce accommodation requirements subject to the clients brief, affordability and compliance with the principles of the master plan and relevant authorities.
