KIZAD empowers your business with excellent access to markets through a world-class transportation infrastructure with multimodal connectivity by road, ports, rail and air networks; connecting you to 4.5 billion consumers.
KIZAD offers excellent access by sea through Khalifa Port – the ultra-modern deep water seaport – enabling easy bulk import and export.
The road network in and around the industrial zone facilitates efficient movement of goods and traffic within the UAE and the wider region.
KIZAD is directly connected to the UAE and the wider Middle East markets through four international airports in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Al Ain.
Transporting your shipments by rail will be possible with the upcoming Etihad Rail, which connects the UAE to other GCC nations in the region.
The port can accommodate the largest ships to ensure easy import of bulk raw materials and export of finished goods. Having Khalifa Port at the doorstep of your business – served by 20 major shipping lines connected to over 52 destination ports – enables the convenient domestic and international shipment of products to and from Abu Dhabi to anywhere in the world.
With the concession agreement Abu Dhabi Ports signed with COSCO SHIPPING Ports Limited in 2016, a new container terminal at Khalifa Port is expected to commence operations in 2018, with an initial annual capacity of 2.4 million TEUs. Once all phases are complete, the annual handling capacity will increase to 3.5 million TEUs, increasing the overall annual capacity to up to 6 million TEUs in both container terminals. This is expected to drive more investments into KIZAD.
The integrated services of Khalifa Port and KIZAD deliver long-term competitive commercial advantages, including exceptional supply chain efficiencies.
Each of the airports is fully equipped to manage air cargo and offer an alternate transportation solution for your shipments. In terms of proximity, Abu Dhabi International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai are both within 30 minutes by road.
Within and around the Industrial Zone are roads of international standard; dual four-lane highways, and dual three-lane arterial roads to enable efficient movement of goods and traffic within the zone and across the UAE and the wider region. KIZAD is well connected via highways such as E11 and E311, linking it to the GCC, with access to all major cities in the region.
Khalifa Port and KIZAD's infrastructure has ready-built rail culverts to facilitate bulk shipment capabilities once the Etihad Rail project is complete.
KIZAD also presents the option of dedicated rail links and marshalling yards. Union Railway – the UAE component of a planned Pan-Arabian rail network linking Yemen, Oman and Saudi Arabia with the European Union and Russia – offers the opportunity to integrate rail freight facilities into the operating plan of customers' plants. KIZAD includes these bulk handling capabilities into the Zone's infrastructure.
